Israel Expands Evacuation Orders in Gaza Amid Rising Tensions

Israel has expanded evacuation orders in Gaza as tensions rise in the region. Following a deadly airstrike on a school-turned-shelter in northern Gaza that killed at least 80 Palestinians, the Israeli military has ordered more evacuations in southern Gaza. The vast majority of Gaza's population of 2.3 million people have been displaced multiple times in the besieged territory.

Hamas has called for a plan to implement agreements reached last month, rather than engaging in new rounds of negotiations. The ongoing conflict has led to continuous displacement of Palestinian residents and displaced families, with many seeking refuge in overcrowded tent camps or schools.

The latest evacuation orders apply to areas in Khan Younis, Gaza's second-largest city, including part of an Israeli-declared humanitarian zone. Israel accuses Hamas and other militants of hiding among civilians and launching attacks from residential areas, leading to the need for mass evacuations.

The humanitarian zone in Gaza has been shrinking as evacuation orders continue to be issued, leaving many families unsure of where to seek safety amidst the escalating violence in the region.
